HOW TO LACE UP OUR GOLDEN GOOSE SNEAKER

16.07.2024

LACE THEM UP IMPERFECTLY

An imperfect and irregular lace-up style is our way to go about lacing kicks. We encourage experimenting with asymmetrical lacing, by crafting different knots or patterns on each shoe - one tightly tied, for instance, the other more loosely bound. Alternatively, for some models, consider leaving the laces of both shoes casually undone. The aim is to add an extra casual flair to the quintessentially laid-back and quite informal style spelled out by our shoes.

In keeping with Golden Goose's ethos, we celebrate imperfection, perceived as a trait of distinctiveness, not as a defect. The more our sneakers bear the marks of wear, the more unique the journey they recount becomes.

EACH SNEAKER IS A ONE-OF-A-KIND

Each sneaker model offers its own unique lacing possibilities. If you're wondering how to lace your sneakers depending on the model, the answer may vary. For models like the Stardan and Running Sole, which don't require a bow, we recommend tying small knots at the lace ends, to secure each side and prevent the laces from slipping through the eyelets. For high-top sneakers, such as the Slide and Francy, which feature a side zipper for easy fitting, try wearing them with the zipper slightly undone, leaving a playful gap at the top.

A general tip for all sneakers, regardless of the model, is to ensure the tongue is not pulled too high, aligning with the quarter (the side panel), and, if possible, slightly askew. When tying a bow, keep it loosely and asymmetrically tied relative to the bow on the other shoe - in an imprecise fashion, as we’d refer to it.

At the heart of the philosophy according to which Golden Goose sneakers are created and styled, there is always a sense of freedom and discovery. The uniqueness of our sneakers and garments is brought out by the personality of the wearer: Golden Lovers choose when and how to break conformity, by expressing their creative side through the styling - and the lacing - of their shoes.
