Like many of our designs, the Super-Star is deeply connected to the world of sports, particularly skateboarding. During a trip to Los Angeles, our founders were captivated by California’s skate scene and the worn-out look of skate shoes from long hours of practice. The scuffed, scraped, and shredded aesthetic became synonymous with a passion for skateboarding. Skaters would often use temporary fixes, like glue and duct tape, to hold their kicks together, proudly wearing each sign of wear and tear as a badge of their story.
Fascinated by the bond between skaters and their shoes, our founders decided to create a sneaker that could forge and mirror the same kind of connection with its wearer. Using a second-hand pair of shoes bought at the Pasadena Flea Market as a prototype, they managed to recreate the broken-in look in their Marghera studio, Italy, and replicate the signs of wear found on the skate shoes back in Los Angeles.
